Adventures in eating, walking, and being cute

Maddox has recently discovered how much fun it is to feed himself with his spoon (read as: he can control how much food he gets at once and how quickly it enters his mouth!).  He has gotten pretty good at feeding himself.

Eating pasta:

For Mother's Day last Sunday, we went out for a walk to get frozen yogurt.  Maddox was pretty stylish in his Hawaiian print shirt!

Yay! Yogurt time!

Cooooooooooome ooooooon, I'm ready to go!
Check out this video from this morning (a few steps!!)

And, just because it's cute:

Happy Mother's Day!!!

To our wonderful mothers, who are both so supportive, loving, and strong women.  We are both so lucky to have you as our moms, and Maddox is incredibly lucky to have you both as Gigi and Grandma.  We love you!!!

A hodge podge of cute

All sorts of things have been going on here.  I finished my semester (yay!), which also means I finished my 3rd year.  3 down, 2 to go!  We are heading into our NOLA summer (hot, hot, hot), and are trying to enjoy being outdoors as much as possible while we still can.

Maddox is making progress on walking, though he still isn't walking unassisted yet.  He cruises like a champ, is attempting standing on his own (see pictures below), and walks while one of us holds his hands.

Get ready, get set...

Go!  Standing!!  He is standing here, even though it looks like he is leaning on my knee, it's legit.  But only for a few seconds before...

"Catch me, Mom!"  Yay!
Luke and Maddox have fun at home together during the day.  They sometimes get a little goofy and do things like this...

Trying on Dada's shirt

We are working on saying "I love you" and he is just too cute when he tries to say it:

As I said, it's been warm here, so we've started introducing Maddox to ice.  In this video, Luke is trying to get Maddox to eat a piece of ice (the ice is in the netted thing Maddox is playing with):

Not a regular occurrence

More videos this weekend! (No, this is not the new schedule.)

Getting closer!:

Hooray for walking! (and the vacuum really, so turn down to your sound.):

"Moo, Baa, LaLaLa!" and Cruisin'

"Moo, Baa, LaLaLa!" is a great book by Sandra Boynton.  We have a few of her children's books and Maddox loves all of them.  This one was especially helpful in teaching Maddox animal noises.

Maddox has also gotten really good at riding the bike that Grandma Cindy got him for his birthday.  In this video you'll see Maddox cruisin' into the kitchen and down the hall (and you'll see Luke quickly closing the bedroom door), Maddox trying to open the bedroom door from his bike, and Maddox informing Luke that the hall light is on.  Enjoy!

Our little yogi

Maddox has started practicing yoga:

He does a good Downward Facing Dog

"Look, Mom!  I'm this close to doing a handstand!!"

Child's Pose
He's also done a few somersaults.  We've tried getting those on camera with no luck.

Happy Easter!

Maddox had his first real Easter morning, complete with an Easter basket and hunting for Easter eggs (in the living room).  The Easter bunny left him a dozen plastic eggs filled with Maddox's favorite "puffs" (spinach and cheddar cheese puffs, and mango and sweet potato puffs).  Maddox also got a new book, foam letters and numbers for the bath, and crayons in his Easter basket.  He enjoyed finding all of his eggs and quickly learned that they contained yummy snacks.

Easter basket!

Can you find all of the eggs?

More eggs

"I know there is good stuff in here..."

"Got it!"
