Here comes trouble!

This was a couple days ago, he seems even better at it now. So... we are baby proofing this weekend. Fortunately, his belly sticks to the wood floor, limiting his range most of the time to that rug. When it cools off enough to wear clothes he slides along the wood quite fast.

Who left a quarter under their pillow?

Sorry we meant to posted this last weekend, but we had to go out and buy one of these:
Because now we have our first one of these!

Solid Food Fun: tofu, green bell pepper, banana, avocado, and cucumber (take 2)

Maddox has tried a bunch of different foods in the last week or so.  Most of them have been squishy, fun, messes!  He's liked most of the and disliked a few (namely the bell pepper).

Tofu
The tofu seemed to be a hit.  It squished up quite nicely in between his fingers.  It is kind of bland, but we gave it to him with pear, so it ended up being a tofupear yummy mess.

Bell pepper
Bell pepper didn't go over too well.  He picked it up, put it in his mouth, and then got the most disgusted look on his face.  It was so funny we had to get it on video:

Banana
We gave him banana again and he liked it.  We tried giving him a chunk that he could hold to, thinking this would make it easier for him to get it into his mouth.  Not so much... he got a bit excited about it and the banana slipped right out of his grasp.  He did ok with it overall, managed to get some bits out of it.

Cucumber- take 2
Last time we gave Maddox cucumber, we cut up into discs.  He seemed to like it, but couldn't really get to the pulp.  So, this time, we cut the cucumber up into spears.  He loved it.

What was left of the cucumber spear
Avocado
I have been eager to give Maddox avocado because they are awesome.  They are kind of hit or miss here, though, so we wanted to wait until we had a good one.  Tonight was the night!  The pictures and video speak for themselves, but I'll just say... he is a good little honorary Californian.  :)

Yummy dinner: avocado, carrot, and cucumber
We started off keeping the peel on the avocado thinking that this would help him grasp it.  That worked for the first attempt but was immediately squished up.  We'll skip the peel next time.

Pre-avocado mess

So determined!

Post-avocado and carrot mess... still determined!

A messy boy, awfully proud of himself

Super, duper cute.  Love this face!
He did really, really well with the avocado.  We think he may have eaten the equivalent of one of those slices.  He also got a fair amount of carrot in his mouth, too.  He's becoming a good little eater!

Food and bath and bouncing fun!

First, apologies for not posting last weekend.  School has started so I had a lot of work last weekend.  Not that this any kind of excuse... just sayin. ;)

To make up for the lack of pictures last week, prepare yourself for cute overload this week.  We have food pictures.  We have bath pictures.  We have bouncy chair pictures and video.  And we have video of a new Maddox skill.  So, sit back, relax, and enjoy the cuteness that follows!

Solid food fun: celery, cucumber, broccoli, and carrot

We gave Maddox celery to gum on last week.  He seemed to like it a lot.  We like it because it is clean and it would be really hard for him to break a piece of.  It mostly seems like a mildly flavored teething toy.

This is evidence of what he does to broccoli... he does seem to suck of a lot of the florets.  There is other evidence that he swallows the florets, but you probably don't want to see that...

We also recently gave him a slice of cucumber to gum on.  He wasn't as impressed with this as he was the celery.  He does love his carrot, though.

Bath time fun

Part of our bedtime routine is bath time.  Maddox is starting to really enjoy his baths.  He splashes and splashes and splashes.  And then splashes some more.  Here is some of the post bath cuteness:

Bouncy seat

And, just to demonstrate how big he is getting, a comparison of Maddox in his bouncy chair now at 7 months vs 3 months:

Huge!!!  Almost 7 months

Not so huge.  3 months
And now, for some videos.

This video can have multiple captions:
"My Papa is super silly!" or
"My laugh is super adorable!" or
"Look how big I'm getting!"

New skill!  Banging toys together.  :)
