Look Mom! I'm flying!

Whenever Maddox plays on his tummy, he "flies".  He lifts his legs, arms, and head off the ground and balances on his belly.  He is pretty darn good at it (I couldn't hold that pose for more than a few seconds).  It is the funniest thing and he always gets a kick out of it.  And so, without further ado, presenting The Great Flying Maddox:

Bye bye Vegas.... Hello Denver.. and then off to Minnesota!

We had a nice long visit with GG and Gramps in Vegas.  Maddox met all of his crazy uncles (and he's told me which one is his favorite, but I'm not gonna tell!) and got to see and meet a lot of his extended family.  While we were in Vegas Maddox learned to roll from belly to back and back to belly, got better at sitting up, and increased his baby vocabulary (e.g., "blarb blarb blarb", "mommma momma mooooma", and raspberry noises).  He also learned to climb:

Maddox also had a chance to spend more time with his Greatgrandma Jayne and Greatgrandpa Bernie while they were out in Vegas:

But, our time in Vegas came to a close and so we continued on our summer adventure. We headed off to Denver to visit with Greatgrandpa Hank and Grandpa John.  We had a great weekend in Denver with lots of time to visit.

From Denver, we headed out to Minnesota, where we'll be for a few weeks before heading home to NOLA.  As you can see, we've done quite a bit of traveling.  Maddox has done great, he's already a little traveling pro.  Hardly any crying on the plane trips and goes through security like a champ.  He's adjusted to the different time changes pretty well, too, though last night he managed to stay up until 10pm.  So late for a little one!

And, because they are just too cute, my boys having some morning cuddle time:

A beautiful wedding

Maddox went to his first of two weddings this summer.  Thanks to Grandma Cindy, he was looking especially dapper in his fancy onsie attire.  We brought our camera... and then forgot to take pictures.  But!  Caroline, who is a very talented photographer, among other things, took pictures throughout the night and was nice enough to email them to me.

It was a gorgeous reception and we couldn't be happier for the incredible couple.  We love you Claire Rosen and Tammy Stout!  :)

Meeting Uncle Phil and the 4th of July

Uncle Phil and Josher drove out to Vegas to spend the 4th with Maddox (and the rest of us, but really to see Maddox).  It was a nice weekend.  We swam, BBQed, and watched fireworks.  We could see about a dozen shows or so from my parents living room windows that overlook the valley.  The fireworks held Maddox's attention for awhile and weren't too loud.  It was a good holiday.  :)

Happy 4th of July!

 Maddox has also gotten really good at sitting up and looking around.  He's been able to play in an exersaucer and enjoys sitting on the couch, looking around.
