One month old (already!)

Grandma Cindy has been here visiting

And we've done a lot of exciting things with her...

Maddox had his first bottle with his Poppa!

I guess it's ok.

It was very cute.  He didn't cry or fuss, but just stared up at Luke calmly but tight lipped.  He finally took the bottle with a little coaxing and did fine with it. 

He has been very alert during his awake times...

 He loves staring at anything with contrasting colors, especially the ceiling fan.  He will also stare for a good amount of time at anything new that is put in front of him.  And just this morning he reached purposefully to touch a soft stuffed animal that was next to him.

We even managed to get a picture of him smiling!

He still does a lot of napping, and especially likes sleeping next to or on someone.

 We also went on our first walk, and started using cloth diapers (which makes his bum big and cushy). 

Other than those exciting things, this week has been much like last week.  He's a mellow baby, and does a lot of napping (which gives mom and dad a chance to catch up on their sleep as well!).

Happy Birthday, Maddox!

Our little man made his grand entrance on Friday Febraury 4th at 7:06 pm.  We weighed 7lbs 10 oz and was 21 inches long.  He has a head full of dark hair and pretty, curious eyes.  This last week has been a blur, filled with late nights, snuggles, and getting to know this little guy.  We are all doing well.  Mom and Dad are a bit sleepy and are still adjusting to this new life, but everyone is happy.  Once we are more awake and alert we'll post a longer entry about Maddox.  Until then, here are a few pictures from the last week.  Love you all!

Any Day Now!

I know a lot of people are waiting anxiously for word that Maddox has arrived.  Our due date was yesterday, and he is still snug as a bug in my tummy.  At this point, Luke and I are experiencing a wave of emotions:  anticipation, excitement, anxiousness, frustration (probably me more than Luke)... but most of all we just can't wait to meet him.

We've had weekly doctor appointments for the last three weeks and everything appears to be fine.  He is just too darn comfy in there.  So, until he decides he is ready to enter this big bad world Luke and I (and my parents who are here visiting) will continue to sit around twiddling our thumbs, staring at each other, waiting for him.  :)

We can't wait to start calling and texting you all on his birthday!  Hang in there... he will come out eventually.  I promise!
